Rendezvous at the Beverly Wilshire: A Pretty Woman's Tale

9500 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90212, USA

Edward Lewis, played by Richard Gere in the legendary “Pretty Woman” (1990), lived in the most expensive suite of the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel (now known as Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel). And although the film is over 30 years old, the hotel is still standing strong. Unfortunately, you won't be able to stay in that very penthouse no matter how much you're willing to pay. The reason is that only the facade and lobby of the actual Beverly Wilshire are seen on the screen. Even the restaurant and bar scenes were filmed elsewhere, and the interior of the suite was entirely constructed in the studio. Despite this, the hotel fully embraces its role in the film, periodically offering special programs for movie enthusiasts that include staying in the Presidential Suite, shopping on Rodeo Drive, and attending an opera evening. Even if you're staying at a different hotel, you can always visit the Beverly Wilshire bar and order their signature cocktail, the Pretty Woman.

Beverly Wilshire Hotel has made guest appearances in other movies, including “Escape from the Planet of the Apes”, “Clueless”, “Sex and the City: The Movie” and “Valentine’s Day”.

Besides the famous fictional characters, Beverly Wilshire was the home of many real famous guests, including Elvis Presley and John Lennon, when he was separated for several months from his wife Yoko Ono.

Bonus fact: The Mediterranean-style pool is modelled after Sophia Loren’s private villa pool in Italy.
