In “French Kiss” (1995), the filmmakers utilised various exterior shots of the Carlton Hotel to depict the accommodation of the four main characters. Interior scenes set in the hotel's lobby and brasserie were used for morning breakfast scenes. Additionally, the production included scenes shot on the beach in front of the hotel, as well as the adjacent waterfront area, notably featuring the Cartier boutique located on the nearby corner.
Other films in which this Carlton Hotel made an appearance include “To Catch a Thief” (1954) by Alfred Hitchcock with Cary Grant and Grace Kelly, “La Bonne Année” (1973) by Claude Lelouch, “Quatre étoiles” (2005), “El secreto de Anthony Zimmer” (2005) by Jérôme Salle with Sophie Marceau, and “Le Siffleur” (2010).
